Well, we are officially moved and the whole process went relatively well with only a few hang ups.
Hang up #1: Trying to rent our truck/trailer from Budget. What a nightmare. The auto transport trailer (for towing our Pathfinder) didn't ever make it to Logan, so we were supposed to go pick it up in who-knows-where. Stupid. And then the truck we got had the Check Engine light come on as we drove it away from the lot. Stupid again. They made us drive it to a mechanic and wait for half a day. Half a day that we were supposed to be packing. Finally we couldn't wait any longer so we cancelled our reservation with Budget and booked a new last-minute one with U-Haul.
Hang up #2: Once we had our U-Haul, we packed everything - and I mean everything. Even our bed - so we slept on an air mattress... that apparently had a leak in it. Come early morning we were basically sleeping on the floor. It was terrible. 5:00am (when we were set to wake up and set sail) couldn't come fast enough.
The drive was long and uneventful except for that whole cow herd we had to drive through.
We split it up into 2 days, staying the first night in Winnemucca (a real fancy destination - NOT) and the second night in Walnut Creek.
I have a video of Steve and Dan singing Just Breathe by Anna Nalick during the drive, but they don't want me to post it (LAME). Dan (Steve's little bro) came with us to help us unpack (thank heavens) and have a bit of a vacation. We've taken him to a couple SF sites (more on that later) these last few days and have enjoyed having him around.
Anyway, we're about 80% unpacked at this point. I'll post apartment pics once we're a bit more settled!
