While I've mentioned that Steve is taking CPA exams, I may not have mentioned one minor detail about them...
That's no typo. He's taking them for California, because here's the thing.
We're moving to San Francisco.

Why? Steve got offered a really awesome job there.
When? Probably this summer or fall. We won't know an exact start date for a couple more months.
Are you crazy? Maybe. We've each only been to San Francisco once, and not with each other. My trip was in 2003 for a school science thing (nerd alert). Steve's trip was last year for his job interview. We have no idea how to do this or what to expect, but we're going for it anyway.
And as far as the other questions we've been getting...
- Yes, Baxter is coming with us.
- Yes, housing is expensive. We'll be grateful for whatever few square feet we're able to call home.
- Yes, we know gay people live there.
- Yes, we know there will likely be earthquakes.
- Yes, we are aware that San Francisco public transportation and other city programs may not be as robust as those of Chicago or New York. Thank you for pointing that out. We're going to move there anyway.
- Yes, visitors (at least those willing to sleep on the floor of a shoebox-sized apartment) will be welcome.
Anyway, we're excited, and a little freaked out, but mostly excited.

WHAT???!!!! That is awesome!!! What an adventure it will be! As long as you know that gay people live there, I guess that's all that matters. Congratulations to you two!!!!!
That's AWESOME!!! I'm so excited for you two! You'll be rockin' it so hard San Fran won't know what hit them. :) I'm anxious for more updates! Congrats!!
You are going to love it there! My sister lives about 30 mins from there. And it is so dog friendly. Congrats to Steve!
Yay! Adventure! :) Good luck.
Yay!! That is so exciting!! It was always fun to go there and Santa Cruz when we lived in Sacramento. Ah, and so many fun day trips you can take up and down the coast too!!! Jealous!
You'll love it, so happy for you two!
We lived in CA for 8 years, earthquakes and all, and we managed to survive. ;)
You better warn the good citizens of San Fran that Chainy's comin' and Hell's comin' with ya!! (Movie quote that I'm sure you are far too young to get)...
LOVE CALIFORNIA!!! I lived in Napa, Santa Rosa, and Vacaville. All not far from the city. The people are amazing and so down to earth. It is refreshing that that is so much culture and people tolerate one another's idiosyncratic moments. Nor Cal is SO dog friendly. I don't think I knew anyone that didn't have a dog. I mean, it's CALIFORNIA!!! If we ever move back to the States, I'd like to move to California. Congrats and enjoy!!! You'll love it!
Oh Frisco...
Say hello to some tall trees and fat sea lions for me, ok? And have a happy adventure!
Congratulations to Steve on the new job. We've only been to San Fran once, last year we took the kids up there for a little vacation. We loved it and hope to go back someday, minus the kiddos. Maybe we'll be seeing you there!
Anyway, I am excited for you. I think moving away from home as a couple only makes you stronger. Kris and I wish you the best in everything!
